The 7 mistakes

1. Choosing airport transport by price only

The cheapest option is not always best after a long flight. If your hotel is far from the bus stop, or you have heavy luggage, a taxi can be worth it.

2. Treating Temple Bar as the whole city

Temple Bar is worth seeing once for atmosphere and photos, but it is often crowded and expensive. Visit briefly, then eat or drink somewhere calmer.

3. Not understanding bus, Luas, and DART

Dublin transport is easier when you know the difference: buses cover the city, Luas is tram, and DART is best for coastal trips like Howth.

4. Booking too many timed attractions

Rain, walking time, queues, and lunch breaks matter. Keep one flexible backup in each day instead of stacking bookings.

5. Waiting at the pub table for service

In many Irish pubs, you order and pay at the bar. Staff may not come to your table first. This is normal.

6. Planning for photos, not weather

Dublin weather can change quickly. Bring a light waterproof jacket and comfortable shoes. Do not rely only on an umbrella.

7. Not saving emergency basics

Save 112 and 999, your hotel address in English, passport copy, travel insurance, and a backup card before you leave home.

Useful phrase

"Could you take me to this address, please?" Keep this ready for taxis, hotel help, and arrival confusion.
